No. Daffy cannot accept ACATS (Automated Customer Account Transfer Service) transfers. ACATS transfers require the sending and receiving account names to match exactly. Since the receiving account is registered to Daffy Charitable Fund, not to your name, an ACATS transfer cannot be completed.
ACATS transfers are typically used to move an entire brokerage account or portfolio from one financial institution to another. DTC transfers are used to make charitable contributions because they allow your brokerage to send specific securities directly to Daffy’s custodial account.
If your brokerage doesn't support DTC transfers, the only way to contribute your shares to Daffy is to first transfer them to another brokerage that supports charitable stock transfers, and then initiate a DTC transfer from that brokerage to Daffy.
Here is our collection of brokerage instructions, including Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard, E*TRADE, Merrill, etc.
