Legacy Plan
Daffy's Legacy Plan lets members decide what happens to their Daffy account when they pass away. Each fund can name either up to two individual successors or one or more charitable beneficiaries, but not both. In other words, a fund that has named individual successor(s) cannot also name a charitable beneficiary(ies), and vice versa.
You can update your fund's Legacy Plan instructions at any time at daffy.org/settings/legacy-plan.
Important: If a fund has a living co-organizer at the time of a member's death, that person remains on the account, and the Legacy Plan is not enacted.
Scenario 1: Adding a Successor
A successor is an individual who takes over as the organizer of a member's Daffy account and can make donation recommendations on behalf of the fund. A fund can name up to two successors. All successors must meet Daffy's eligibility criteria.
If a successor is unreachable, unavailable, or unwilling to take responsibility for the account, any remaining balance will be transferred to Daffy's general charitable fund.

Scenario 2: Adding a Charitable Beneficiary
A charitable beneficiary is an eligible charity that receives the Daffy account balance upon a member's death. A fund can name more than one organization as a charitable beneficiary. When naming multiple charitable beneficiaries, please specify the percentage of the balance each organization should receive.
Upon notification of a member's death, Daffy will review the designation and send an unrestricted donation to the named organization or organizations. Members are responsible for ensuring Daffy has the correct contact information for each organization and that each organization remains in good standing with the IRS.
