When you recommend a donation on Daffy, you control two things: how it appears on Daffy, and what information (if any) you share with the charity. The donation flow walks you through each decision separately so you can make the right choice for each donation.
You can also set default preferences for all donations at daffy.org/settings/preferences.
Step 1: Choose your visibility on Daffy
On the donation details screen, you'll see a Visibility on Daffy section with two options:
Public — Your name, fund name, and public comment appear on Daffy. The donation amount is always hidden.
Private — Your donation appears as "Anonymous" on Daffy.
Choose what feels right and click or tap Next.
Step 2: Choose what to share with the charity
The next screen asks what information, if any, you'd like to send to the charity along with your donation.
What you see here depends on the visibility choice you just made:
If you selected Public: "This donation is public and will include your name and fund name on Daffy. You can optionally share additional contact information with the charity below."

If you selected Private: "This donation is anonymous on Daffy. You can optionally share your contact information directly with the charity below."
From here, you can:
Toggle contact sharing on or off — decide whether the charity receives any personal information
Edit what you share — enter your name, email address, and/or mailing address (all fields are optional)
Specify donation use — tell the charity how you'd like the funds used (e.g., "relief/disaster," "weekly offering," etc). This note goes directly to the charity and is not displayed on Daffy.
Common Scenarios
“I want my donation visible on Daffy, but I don't want to share contact info with the charity.”
Select Public in Step 1
Leave the "Share my information" toggle off in Step 2.
The charity's donation letter will include your name and fund name, but no contact details.
“I want to share my information with the charity, but stay anonymous on Daffy.”
Select Private in Step 1
Turn the "Share my information" toggle on in Step 2 and enter the details you'd like to share.
In the donation letter, Daffy will request that the charity keep your information private if you choose to share it.
“I want to donate completely anonymously.”
Select Private in Step 1
Leave the "Share my information" toggle off in Step 2.
The charity will receive a donation letter with no identifying information.
Set Your Default Preferences
To avoid having to choose these settings every time, save your donation visibility defaults at daffy.org/settings/preferences. You can always override them for any individual donation.
