What information does a charity receive with my donation?

Written by Support

Donation Details

Every donation from Daffy includes the donation amount and date. If the Daffy member chooses to share it, a donation may also include:

  • The Daffy fund's name

  • The donor's name

  • Donor contact information (email address, mailing address, and/or phone number)

  • A public note about what inspired the donor to give, also visible on the charity's public Daffy profile

The amount of information shared with a charity can be customized by Daffy members at any time.

How Donation Information Is Delivered

How this information reaches the charity depends on how the charity is set up to receive donations:

Charities receiving donations by US Mail receive a physical check along with a donation letter containing the information above.

Charities receiving donations electronically through Chariot receive the same donation details, including any donation use notes or special instructions, in their Chariot Disbursements dashboard instead of a mailed letter.

To learn more about electronic donations, see What is Chariot Disbursements?
