Overview
Send Funds lets you recommend a transfer of cash from your Daffy fund to another member’s Daffy fund. You can find the recipient by name or by their Daffy account number, then enter an amount and an optional note.
Send Funds moves money between donor-advised funds on Daffy. It does not send money to a person’s bank account, and it is not a donation to a charity.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens after I send funds?
A transfer stays scheduled for 1 hour after you submit it. During that hour, you can cancel it from the transfer’s details in your activity feed.
After the hour passes, Daffy withdraws the amount from your fund. If your fund doesn’t have enough uninvested cash, Daffy sells investments in your portfolio to cover the transfer. Because of market movement during the sale, the amount the recipient receives can differ slightly from the amount you entered.
Daffy notifies you when the transfer is sent and again when the recipient’s fund receives it. The recipient gets an email and app notification with your note. The transfer appears in both members’ activity feeds and account statements.
Which fund receives the money?
The money goes to the recipient’s chosen receiving fund. Members who belong to more than one fund can choose which fund receives incoming transfers.
On Web
Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner and select Your Account.
Click Incoming Transfers.
Select the fund you want to receive transfers and save.
On iOS
Tap the gear (settings) icon.
Tap Your Account, then Incoming Transfers.
Select the fund you want to receive transfers.
Is sending funds to another Daffy fund tax-deductible?
No. Sending funds to another member’s Daffy fund is not tax-deductible for the sender or the recipient. You already received any eligible deduction when you contributed to your Daffy fund. This transfer shows up in the tax-deductible section of the recipient's Daffy tax summary.
Can I send funds to a member with a private profile?
Yes, if you know their Daffy account number. Private profiles don’t appear in name searches, but you can enter the member’s account number in the People tab to send them funds. Daffy does not show account numbers on member profiles, so ask the recipient to share theirs. Members can find their account number by following these steps.
What happens if my balance is too low to cover the transfer?
If your fund balance can’t cover the amount, the transfer waits for funds instead of failing. Contribute to your fund to complete it. If your balance still doesn’t cover the transfer after 30 days, the transfer expires and Daffy notifies you. Nothing is withdrawn from your fund for an expired transfer.
Who on my fund can send funds?
Organizers and advisors can send funds from a Daffy fund. Family members can’t send funds, but they can request donations for an organizer to approve. See What role permissions do members of my fund have?
