Overview
Gift a Daffy Fund lets you open a new, pre-funded Daffy fund for someone else. You choose the fund’s name, the amount, and an optional personal note. The recipient gets an email invitation to accept the gift and create their own Daffy account. The amount comes from your Daffy fund balance.
Gifting a fund works well for birthdays, graduations, holidays, or helping family members start their own giving.

What happens after I send a gifted fund?
The recipient receives an email invitation with your note and the gift amount. To accept, they select Create my own fund and sign up for a Daffy account. The gifted contribution then appears in their account, ready for them to recommend donations to charities. You can track the gift's acceptance in your Daffy account's activity feed.
What happens if the recipient declines the gift?
If the recipient declines the invitation or it expires, you can send the gift amount back to your own Daffy fund. You can also switch to the gifted fund and use it yourself. Both options appear in the gift’s activity details.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a gifted Daffy fund tax-deductible?
No. Your contributions to your Daffy fund are tax-deductible in the year you make them, so gifting a fund from your Daffy balance does not create a new deduction. The recipient is also not entitled to a tax deduction for the gift.
Can I gift a Daffy fund if my balance is too low?
No. Your Daffy fund needs enough money to cover the full gifted contribution amount. If your balance is too low, contribute to your fund first, then send the gift.
Who controls a gifted Daffy fund?
The recipient manages the gifted fund after accepting the invitation. They can recommend donations, contribute more, and update the fund name from their profile.
Can I gift Daffy funds to several people?
Yes. Send a separate gift for each person. Each gift creates its own fund with its own name and balance.
