How do I find a charity on Daffy?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Daffy members can donate to over 1.5 million charities. Any 501(c)(3) public charity in good standing with the IRS is eligible to receive donations through Daffy.

Search On Web

  1. Log into your member dashboard

  2. Click the search bar in the top right, or click Donate

  3. Enter the charity's name or EIN

Search On iOS

  1. Open the Daffy app

  2. Tap Donate

  3. Enter the charity's name or EIN

For the most accurate results, search by the charity's federal tax ID (EIN). Many charities list their EIN in the "Donate" section of their website. If it isn't listed, contact the charity directly to request it.

To search for a charity before joining Daffy, follow these steps.

What if the Charity Name Looks Different Than Expected?

Charities are listed on Daffy by their legal name as registered with the IRS. If the name doesn't match what you expect when searching by EIN, it may be because:

  • The organization operates under a different name than its legal name

  • The organization is a project or initiative of a larger charity and does not have its own EIN

  • The organization is fiscally sponsored by another charity and does not have its own EIN

What if I Can't Find a Charity?

First, contact the charity to request their federal tax ID. If their EIN does not appear in Daffy's search results and the organization meets Daffy's eligibility requirements, you can request that we add it.

A few additional cases to be aware of:

  • Houses of worship (churches, synagogues, mosques, temples, etc.) may be eligible even if not formally registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3).

  • Public schools and institutions may be eligible through a registered 501(c)(3) that manages their fundraising, such as a PTA, PTO, or "Friends of" organization. Contact the school or institution directly to ask for the appropriate tax ID and the best way to make a tax-deductible donation.
