When you donate on Daffy, you are in control of your donation visibility and the contact information you share with the recipient charity.
You can set default, information sharing and visibility preferences for all your donations, or customize your preferences based on the specific charity or donation.
You can also make your donation fully anonymous or only share your name but no contact information. The choice is yours.
Your Donation Preferences
There are two types of donation preferences (settings) on Daffy.
Donation Visibility on Daffy
This setting determines whether or not your donation is visible on Daffy.
Share Information With Charities
This setting determines the information you wish to share with a charity.
Donation Visibility on Daffy
Every donation has a visibility setting of either Public or Private. This setting determines whether or not the donation is visible on the Daffy platform.
Public: Your donation information is visible on your Daffy profile, the charity's Daffy profile, and in the Daffy community feed of members that follow you. This information includes your name, fund name, and public comment (if submitted). Public donations never display the amount of the donation.
Below is an example of a public donation visible on Daffy.
Private: No information is visible on Daffy when you set a donation to private.
Create your default visibility settings:
On the Daffy app, go to the gear (settings) icon on the top right and tap Preferences. On web, go to daffy.org/settings/preferences.
Scroll down to find the section "Donation Visibility."
Select Public or Private.
Customize visibility for a specific donation:
To override your default settings, start your donation and click or tap "Customize donation" on the first screen.
Select Public or Private.
Sharing Information With Charities
You can share personal information with the charities you support on Daffy. This information can include a donor name(s), email address(es), mailing address(es), and/or phone number(s).
If you prefer to not share any contact information with a charity, make sure to turn the slider off in this section.
Create your default information sharing settings:
On the Daffy app, go to the gear (settings) icon on the top right and tap Preferences. On web, go to daffy.org/settings/preferences.
Scroll down to find the section "Share Information"
If you'd like to share contact information with all the charities you donate to, turn on the slider and type in your information. All fields are optional.
If you prefer not to share your contact information, keep the slider turned off.
Note: If your "Share Information" slider is turned off and your donation visibility is Public (see above), then your name, fund name, and public comment (if submitted) will be on the donation letter Daffy sends to the charity. Here's a sample letter.
Customize information sharing for a specific donation:
To override your default settings, start your donation and scroll down to the "Share Information" slider on the second screen.
Turn the slider on or off.
Type in your information. All fields are optional.

How do I make a public donation on Daffy but not share any contact information with a charity?
If you want your donation to be visible on Daffy but not share any contact information with the charity:
Set your donation visibility to Public
Make sure your "Share Information" slider is turned off.
The charity will receive a donation letter that includes your name, fund name, public comment (if submitted), and donation use (if submitted).

How do I share my information with a charity but not on Daffy?
If you want to share your information with the charity but not have your donation visible on Daffy:
Set your donation visibility to Private.
Turn your "Share Information" slider on.
Type the information you want to share with the charity (i.e. name or contact information).
Anonymous Donations
To make a fully anonymous donation on Daffy:
Set your donation visibility to Private.
Make sure the "Share Information" slider is turned off.
