How do I check on the status of a contribution?

Contributions made with cash can sometimes take a few days for the funds to arrive from our payment processor (Stripe).

Even if your bank or credit card shows the transaction as posted, it may take Daffy a few extra days to receive the funds.

Once we have the funds, your Daffy balance is updated and available to donate.

Make sure to complete a stock contribution intent in the Daffy app or website before initiating the transfer with your brokerage. This lets us know the shares are coming and from where.

Processing times vary by brokerage. It can range from 2 days to over 2 weeks. For the most accurate timeline, please reach out directly to your brokerage.

As long as there’s a matching intent, shares are typically credited to your Daffy account the same day we receive them.

Crypto contributions are usually fully processed within a few hours of receipt.

Blockchain clearing times vary, so Daffy may not receive the transfer until later in the day, even if you initiated it earlier.

We do our best to liquidate crypto as soon as possible, but we cannot guarantee an exact timetable.

If you’re transferring from another donor-advised fund (DAF), processing can take several weeks, depending on your current provider.

Because this is controlled by the sending DAF, Daffy does not have the ability to speed up the process.

For the most accurate timeline, we recommend reaching out directly to your current DAF provider.

Asset type: Cash (bank transfer), Cash (debit/credit card or ApplePay), Stock, Crypto, or DAF transfer

Date initiated: When you started the contribution with your financial institution (MM/DD/YYYY)

Amount sent: Dollar amount, number of shares, or cryptocurrency amount

Sending institution: Name of the bank, brokerage firm, crypto exchange, or DAF provider
