No. As with all donor-advised funds, Daffy members may not recommend donations to satisfy pre-existing pledges or obligations for their private benefit. Daffy cannot approve recommendations that are intended to cover any portion of a donation that would result in a "more than incidental benefit" to you or your family.

Examples of donation recommendations that fall in the "more than incidental benefit" category and cannot be approved include items with financial value such as tuition payments, tickets to an event or gala, raffle tickets, auction items, or membership benefits to other organizations.

Daffy members are permitted to receive items that have been deemed of “insubstantial value” according to IRS rules, such as a keychain or calendar. Receiving recognition for a donation is generally also acceptable.
