Why did my membership tier change?

Written by Support

Daffy membership tiers are adjusted automatically based on contribution activity and usage of membership-specific features.

A tier change may be triggered by any of the following:

    • AAC-based tier membership downgrades only apply when no other tier-specific features are in use.

  • Adding members to a fund

    • Adding anyone to a Contributor membership automatically upgrades it to the Family tier at $5/month.

  • Requesting a custom portfolio

    • Requesting a custom portfolio automatically upgrades Contributor and Family memberships to the Benefactor tier at $20/month.

  • Selecting a custom liquidation plan for stock contributions

    • Selecting a custom liquidation plan automatically upgrades Contributor, Family, and Benefactor memberships to the Philanthropist tier at $40/month.

Members may downgrade their membership tier by removing a tier-specific feature, such as additional fund members, a custom portfolio, or a custom liquidation plan. However, to be eligible to downgrade, the account's average annualized contributions must also be below the threshold for the desired tier. Tier downgrades are reflected automatically within the next billing cycle.
